Derived from the cross-section geometry by polygon integration. The published mass per meter is the catalog value; the calculated figure is a geometric cross-check. Because the modulus of FRP is about a tenth of steel's, deflection usually governs, so check spans in the profile calculator. For a planning budget per meter, enter these dimensions in the price estimator.

What a 50×4 mm fiberglass round tube carries

Allowable service uniform load for CHS 50×4 as a simply supported beam, from the published FRP span tables. Design basis: EN 13706 Grade E23 (E-glass pultruded); LRFD, ASCE/SEI 74-23 (φ = 0.65, λ = 0.8 for occupancy live load, γ_Q = 1.6); Outdoor exposed (0.85 on strengths); deflection limit L/250 at service load (Timoshenko shear deflection included). Typical uses for this family: handrails, cross-members and light spanning members.

Spans where the allowable load falls below 0.05 kN/m are omitted. Point loads, connections, lateral restraint and other exposures need their own check: open this section in the calculator or compare every size in the span tables.

Data basis: F1-published general-purpose laminate (FRP Profile Design Manual DOC-PF-2026-EN Rev. B); ILSS 30 MPa published above the EN 13706 minimum of 25 MPa; transverse values are EN 13706-3 Table 1 grade minimums. Standard isophthalic polyester is not fire-retardant — for ASTM E84 Class 1 specify the FR-E23 grade. Compressive strength, Barcol hardness and water absorption are not specified by EN 13706 — the figures shown are typical industry values for this resin system, pending F1 certified test data; request certified values before final design.

Standards: EN 13706 Grade E23.

Values marked “Verify before release” are pending certified test data and are never estimated. Request batch-traceable certified data through the quote form before final design.

CHS 50×4: common questions

How much does a fiberglass round tube 50×4 mm weigh?

The published mass is 0.9 kg per meter (about 0.60 lb/ft), so a standard 6 m length weighs about 5.4 kg.

What load can a 50×4 mm fiberglass round tube carry?

On the published design basis (EN 13706 E23, LRFD to ASCE/SEI 74-23, outdoor exposure, L/250 deflection with shear deformation), the allowable service uniform load is about 1.1 kN/m over a simply supported 1 m span and 0.07 kN/m over 2.5 m (deflection governs at 2.5 m). Check point loads, connections and your own exposure in the calculator before release.

Is there a CAD drawing for CHS 50×4?

Yes. A dimensioned DXF cross-section is a free download on this page, with no login. It opens in AutoCAD, DraftSight, LibreCAD and other CAD packages.

What is the lead time for CHS 50×4?

CHS 50×4 is a catalog section in 6 m standard lengths. Catalog sections ship in 2–4 weeks. Catalog dimensions identify standard section options, not live inventory. Confirm tooling, material, quantity and production timing in the quotation.
